Senator Maria Collett visits CMTHS

We were honored to welcome Senator Maria Collett to Central Montco Technical High School (CMTHS) for an insightful and engaging visit focused on the future of Career and Technical Education (CTE) in Pennsylvania. During her time at CMTHS, Senator Collett had the opportunity to witness firsthand the dedication and talent of our students across various programs, including Healthcare Sciences, Landscaping, Networking, Building Trades, Culinary, and Baking.

A key highlight of the visit was the conversation between Dr. King, our Executive Director, and Senator Collett regarding the critical need for sustained and increased funding for CTE programs. As champions of workforce development, we recognize that CTE is the heartbeat of Pennsylvania’s future workforce, equipping students with the hands-on skills and industry knowledge necessary to thrive in high-demand careers.

Senator Collett’s engagement with both students and staff were meaningful and productive. She took the time to listen to their experiences, aspirations, and the challenges they face, reinforcing her commitment to advocating for CTE initiatives at the state level. Her visit not only provided valuable insights into the impact of technical education but also strengthened our confidence that she will work diligently to support and protect these essential programs.

We appreciate Senator Collett’s dedication to promoting CTE in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and look forward to continued collaboration to ensure that institutions like CMTHS remain strong, well-funded, and ready to prepare the next generation of skilled professionals.
