Cosmetologist PA License
All of our programs integrate college preparatory coursework with an emphasis on technical skills. Recent graduates from the Cosmetology program are attending Cittone Institute, Studio Makeup Academy, Montgomery County Community College and Kutztown University.
The Cosmetology program teaches the most scientific approach in hair designing, manicuring and esthetics today.
Students are trained in specializations such as nail sculpturing, skin care, hair cutting, coloring, styling, permanent waving and ethnic styling.
Students may participate in our internship program, which consists of spending several days a week in our own salon during school hours.
Students can demonstrate skills while working towards their goals for licensing requirements in the state of Pennsylvania.
The basic course requires 1250 hours of study and takes three years to complete where students learn the theory of anatomy of the head, face,hands and feet, chemicals, coloring, sterilization, sanitation and safety precautions in the field. Students are also trained in the art of customer service.
There is a one year 200 hour manicuring course which offers practical clinic demonstrations, application, and classroom instruction of the nail and the nail related arts, products, and treatments.
The esthetics program is a one year 300 hour program, which offers a well-rounded schedule of classroom instruction and demonstration rooted in practical application of products.
In a new, state-of-the-art facility, a caring and highly qualified professional staff share their skills while challenging and encouraging their students. Many of the instructors have established high profiles in their fields of expertise prior to becoming teachers. Students not only get to know their teachers, but the teachers get to know them and respond to their individual needs as they extend their support and enthusiasm while preparing students for the future. The students are able to obtain a variety of state and nationally recognized certifications and licenses.
Students have the option to participate in two nationally recognized career and technical student organizations – SkillsUSA and Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA). Students can compete at the district, state and national levels.
Central Montco Technical High School has allocated in excess of $750,000 in financial aid to graduating seniors.
National Technical Honor Society
The National Technical Honor Society is the acknowledged leader in the recognition of outstanding student achievement in career and technical education.
Articulation Agreements are cooperative arrangements for granting admission and college credit to students who are continuing their education. Central Montco Technical High School has articulated its programs with a wide range of colleges and technical schools resulting in college credit or priority placement for CMTHS students.
