Induction Ceremony 2024

What is the National Technical Honor Society?

The National Technical Honor Society is an educational non-profit that exists to honor, recognize, and empower students and teachers in Career & Technical Education. NTHS serves over 100,000 active members annually in both secondary and post-secondary chapters across the country. NTHS honors the achievements of top CTE students, provides close to $300,000 in scholarships annually, and strives to help connect education and industry to build a highly skilled workforce.

What do we do at CMTHS?

Locally, at Central Montco Technical High School, our focus is on the four Core Principles of Career Development, Leadership, Service, and Recognition. The NTHS recognizes and encourages higher scholastic achievement, cultivates a desire for personal excellence, and helps top students find success in today’s highly competitive workplace. We have monthly meetings during the school day and have enjoyed doing service projects for community groups.

What are the qualifications for the National Technical Honor Society?

In order for your membership application to be considered, there are additional criteria that are used to evaluate your membership and information that we need from you:

  • Completed Application

    • Evidence of a desire to pursue a career in your chosen technical program

    • Involvement in student organizations at CMTHS & your sending school

    • No significant discipline issues.

  • Excellent attendance (no more than 10% days absent)

  • A grade of at least 90% in your CMTHS program

  • A GPA of at least 3.0 at your sending school

  • Additionally, your instructor will be given a recommendation form to complete letting us know more about you.

CMTHS students who meet ALL of these qualifications will be issued an invitation to join the National Technical Honor Society and will be sworn in at an evening ceremony for families to attend in February, where we recognize our amazing members.
